Marine Drive Beach :

Marine Drive is built in the 1920s and 1930s on land reclaimed from the sea, is Mumbai's most famous thoroughfare.
At the top end of Marine Drive is Chowpatty Beach, the only beach in the central part of Mumbai. One can witnesses many Hindu religious ceremonies taking place at Chowpatty like the annual thread-tying ceremony initiating young boys into the Brahmin caste, 'Nariel Purnima' towards the end of the monsoons and 'Ganesh Chaturthi' immersions. Suvarnaganesha is one of the major attraction of Diveagar. 17th November 1998 (Sankashti chaturthi) suvarna ganesh found in a copper box at coconut cultivation (wadi). Suvarna ganesh is made up of 24 caret pure gold. Suvarna ganesh is about 1.3kg in weight and 60cm in height. The copper box also contained ornaments of suvarna ganesh. Vijaydurg Beach:
Vijaydurg is situated in Sindhudurg district.
A huge and strong seafort constructed by Sri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on the Waghotane estuary. Sri Rameshwar temple.
Triple line of walls built and numerous watch towers and the massive interior buildings. The fort has hollowed out entrance to take vessels of 500 tons. The Maratha naval commander, Angre had his base here. Sindhudurg, off the Malvan coast was built at a site personally selected by Shivaji. The construction began in 25th Nov 1664 and completed in 1667.
Sindhudurg's strength was its inaccessibility. It is approachable only through a narrow navigable channel between the two smaller islands of dhontara and Padmaged. inside the premises are the statue of Shivaji along with his palm and footprints.

Guhagar Beach:
Long stretch of unspoiled white sand beach, Guhagar beach offers all sanctity one looks in a serene and secluded beach. The invasions of modern concrete buildings are scanty in this beach. The beach offers a perfect place for sunbath, relaxation and meditation, away from the madding crowds.
Arabian sea with all its charm, sometimes as calm as a kid and sometimes as harsh as a roaring lion, attracts the visitors to its lap in Guhagar. Harihareshwar Beach

Harihareshwar boasts one of the cleanest unspoilt beach in Konkan and an ancient Harihareshwar temple. Ancient temple complex is also interesting and Pradakshina round the temple is highly recommended. There is a nice walkway built by the temple management. Terekhol Beach:
The Terekhol Beach lies on the north bank of the Terekhol river and is located in the northern most part of the state of Goa , near the Maharashtran border. Terekhol is a wild, beautiful, unspoiled and completely uncommercialised region in Goa .
A fort that was originally a Maratha fort is located here on a piece of high ground facing the sea. It is lapped by the sea on one side, and has a dry moat surrounding it on the other three sides. The Portuguese captured it in 1776 and built a church here. The fort is now a hotel, the Hotel Tiracol Fort Heritage. It offers some very stark but beautiful views. The area surrounding the fort also makes for some good rides on a motorcycle, and you could stop for a swim on deserted Querim Beach .

Dapoli–Karde Beach :
A clean, virgin beach with no crowds just a few hours drive from Pune and Mumbai! Sounds too good to be true? Welcome to Karde beach, situated on the west Maharashtra Konkan coastline. A scenic half an hours drive (about 13km) from Dapoli will bring you here. You can stay in one of the beach resorts near the hill side and relish on the exquisite seafood cooked in local styles. The fried fish and fish curry is really yummy. They serve good Konkani vegetarian food too
One of the primary attractions here is dolphin watching. A number of local tour operators arrange dolphin watching trips in boats. The Sheoak plantations (Suruche Ban) which border this beach are an ideal retreat for relaxing or having short naps. It is safe for swimming or you can just wade in the waters with white waves lapping at your feet. Have the time of your lives playing Frisbee, beach volley ball, collecting sea shells, etc.
How to reach:
Karde is situated around 13km from Dapoli. State Transport (ST) buses run between Dapoli and Karde, however with less frequency. The best option is to take an auto rickshaw or drive down. Rented jeeps / cars are also available.

रायरेश्वर पठार: रानफुलांचा रंगसोहळा:
ऑगस्ट संपता संपता धरणीने छान हिरवाई ल्यालेली असते. सप्टेंबर-ऑक्टोबरमध्ये रानफुलांचा सोहळा सह्याद्रीच्या अंगाखांद्यावर रंग उधळत असतो. असाच अनुभव घेण्यासाठी बेलाग कड्यांच्या माथ्यावरच्या विस्तीर्ण पठारावर मन धाव घेऊ लागते. महाराष्ट्राला अशा अनेक पठारांचे वरदान लाभले आहे. कास, पाचगणी ही काही त्यातली प्रसिद्ध नावं. पण पाचगणीच्या टेबललँडपेक्षाही एक विस्तीर्ण पठार पुण्याजवळच आहे. ते म्हणजे रायरेश्वराचे पठार. होय, तेच जिथे शिवाजी महाराजांनी जीवाभावाच्या सवंगड्यांसह स्वराज्याची शपथ घेतली. एकूण लांबी चक्क ११ किलोमीटर आणि रुंदी दीड किमी.
भोरजवळच्या आंबेघर-आंबवडे-टिटेघर मार्गे कोर्ले गावात पोचले की उजव्या हाताला दिसतो तोच रायरेश्वर. डावीकडे समोर आहे तो केंजळगड. वर जायला कच्चा गाडीरस्ता तयार केलेला आहे, पण पावसाळ्याच्या दिवसांत गाडी कोर्ले गावातच लावावी. वाटेत काही धबधबे पाहत, त्यांचे एक्स्ट्रा फ्रेश पाणी प्यायलात की सगळी चढाई सोप्पी वाटते. एक दीड तासांच्या चढाईनंतर हाच रस्ता एका खिंडीत येतो जिथे दुसर्या बाजूच्या (वाईची बाजू) दरीतून आणखी एक गाडी रस्ता येऊन मिळतो. तिथूनच एक पायवाट वर पठारावर जाते. थोडे चालून गेलात की रायरेश्वराच्या शिड्या दृष्टीस पडणार. पंधरा मिनिटांत आपण शिडीला भिडतो. या सगळ्या शिड्या अंगावर येणार्या आहेत. वाटेत काही रानफुलांचे ट्रेलर दर्शन होते. एकदा हा टप्प पार केला की आपण डायरेक्ट स्वर्गात पोचल्याचा भास होतो. सगळीकडे कर्दळीच्या जातीची पांढरी फुले आणि काही जांभळी फुले नजरेस पडतात. चांदण्या धरणीवर उतरल्याचा भास होत होता. मध्येच अवखळ निर्झर आणि फुलांचे गलिचे दृष्टीस पडतात. काही संथ तलाव असे की जणू देवांचा स्विमिंग पूलच...!!! समोरचीच मळलेली पायवाट पकडून पुढे निघावे. एका दिवसात सगळे पठार फिरणे तर अशक्यच आहे. तरी पण महाराजांनी जिथे स्वराज्याची शपथ घेतली त्या ऐतिहासिक शिवमंदिरापर्यंत जायलाच हवे. धूक्यातून वाट काढत तिथपर्यंत पोचावे लागते. त्या शिवलिंगाच्या दर्शनाने गात्रे उल्हसित होतात. जिथे महाराजांनी शपथ घेतली त्या मंदिरात आम्ही प्रत्यक्ष आहोत ही जाणीव अंगावर शहारे आणते. सध्या या मंदिराची व्यवस्था जंगम कुटुंबाकडे आहे.
मुक्कामाचा बेत असेल तर पश्चिम कड्यावरुन होणार सुर्यास्त चुकवू नये असाच आहे. हिरव्या गालिच्यावर सोनकी, कर्दळी, रानहळद, तेरडा, वाघनखी, कारवी अशी अनेक तर्हेची फुले निळी, जांभळी, पांढरी, लाल, गुलाबी, पिवळी नक्षीदार वेलबुट्टी रेखीत असतात. काही दुर्मिळ ऑर्किड्स आढळल्याचीही नोंद आहे. असा हा सोहळा अनुभवण्यासाठी राय्रेश्वराकडे वाट वाकडी करायलाच हवी. वर तिथे जंगम कुटुंबीयांची वाडी आहे. साधारण पंधरा एक उंबरा असेल. राहण्याची आणि जेवणाची सोय जंगम कुटुंबीयांकडे होऊ शकते. आणखी ट्रेकची आवड आणि इच्छा असेल तर समोरचा केंजळगड सर करता येईल.

* मुंबई-पुणे-खेड शिवापूर-भोर-आंबेघर-आंबवडे-टिटे
* सातारा-शिरवळ-भोर-आंबेघर-आंबवडे
* सातारा-वाई-ओव्हळी-रायरेश्वर (कच्चा रस्ता)
आसपासचा परिसर:
केंजळगड, आंबवडेचा झुलता पूल, मांढरदेव घाट, रोहिडा किल्ला.
पुणे-बंगळूर राष्ट्रीय महामार्गावरुन खेड शिवापूरच्या पुढे नसरापूरला एक फाटा उजवीकडे वळतो. नसरापूर मागे टाकले की हळूहळू रम्य सह्याद्रीच्या कुशीत खेळणार्या धबधब्यांचा आनंद लुटत एक-दोन नदीवरचे पूल ओलांडून पुढे आलो की "गडांचा राजा, राजांचा गड, राजगड" दुरुनच खूणावू लागतो. त्याला पुन्हा कधी तरी येण्याचे आश्वासन द्यायचे आणि वेल्ह्याकडे जाण्याचा रस्ता पकडायचा. वेल्हा हे तोरणा किल्ल्याच्या पायथ्याचे गाव. चहा आणि नाश्ता मिळण्यासाठी हॉटेल असलेले शेवटचे ठिकाण. तोरण्याला डाव्या बगलेत ठेवून आपण घनदाट जंगलातल्या अरुंद गाडीरस्त्याने एका खिंडीत पोचतो. या रस्त्याने जाताना बुधला माची आपली सावलीसारखी सोबत करत असते. या खिंडीतून पलीकडे तोरण्याच्या मागील बाजूचा कडा आणि पलीकडली दरी अतिशय मनोहारी दिसते. पुढे पाचच मिनिटांत पासरी हे गाव येते. पासरीच्या पुढे वरोती आणि हारपुड. गाडी जाण्याजोगा रस्ता या हारपुड गावापर्यंतच आहे. अतिशय खराब आणि दरीच्या काठाने वळणावळणांचा रस्ता असल्याने गाडी अतिशय जपून चालवावी लागते.
हारपुडहून निघताना एखादा वाटाड्या घेऊन जावे, कारण पुढील वाट बरीच दूरची आहे. दरीत उतरणारी आणि पुन्हा वर चढणारी वाट खरंच दमवते. पहिल्याच चढाला एक सुंदरसा पाणवठा आहे. नैसर्गिक झर्याचे पाणी आपल्यात नवा उत्साह भरुन टाकते. अशा दोन दर्या आणि तीन डोंगर पार केले की आपण एका पठारावर येतो. दूरवर लिंगाण्याचे ट्रेलर दर्शन होते. या पठारावर एक वाडी आहे. तिथे पाणी पिण्यासाठी विहीर आहे. या एवढ्या दुर्गम भागात डोक्यावर क्रेनचे सुटे भाग आणून ही विहीर खोदली गेली आहे. थंडगार पाणी पिलात की सगळा थकवा कुठल्या कुठे पळून जातो. त्यापुढे आहे ते मोहरीचे पठार आणि एक टप्पा खाली उतरले की रायलिंगीचे पठार. रायलिंगीवरुन लिंगाणा अगदी जवळ आलेला दिसतो. अगदी सख्खा शेजारी असल्यासारखा. लिंगाण्याचा सुळका आणि त्यामागे भटक्यांचे दैवत रायगड. शिवरायांच्या पदस्पर्शाने पावन झालेली, पराक्रमाच्या गाथा सांगणारी ही भूमी एक अनामिक प्रेरणा देत असते, प्रत्येक वेळी, प्रत्येक ट्रेकला. हाच रस्ता पुढे बोराट्याच्या आणि सिंगापूरच्या नाळेने खाली कोकणात उतरतो.
बरेचसे ट्रेकर हा ट्रेक दोन अर्ध्या-अर्ध्या दिवसांमध्ये आखतात. म्हणजे साधारणतः दुपारी हारपूडला पोचून दोन अडीच तासात सूर्यास्ताला रायलिंगी गाठायचे. पुढे लिंगाण्याच्या मागे होणारा अतीव सुंदर सूर्यास्त डोळ्यांचे पारणे फेडतो. रात्र तिथेच तंबूमध्ये काढायची. आपल्याजवळच्या सामग्रीनिशी सगळे कौशल्य पणाला लावून मूगखिचडी-रस्सा रटरटून तयार करायचा, मस्तपैकी तो चापायचा आणि आख्खी रात्र त्या अथांग नभांगणाखाली तारे वेचीत काढायची. डोळ्यांवर झोपेचा अंमल चढला की हळूच तंबूच्या उबेत शिरायचे. सकाळी धुक्यात हरवलेला लिंगाणा आणि रायगड शोधायचा आणि सापडला की त्याला डोळे भरुन पाहून परत फिरायचे
